Imminent
beatification of thee 22 Oblate Martyrs of Spain. It is already known
that this will take place in Madrid on December 17, 2011. Present, along with
Fr. General, will be four members of the General Council and three Cardinals:
Cardinal Angelo Amato, Delegate of the Pope; Cardinal Antonio Cañizares,
Prefect of the Congregation of Divine Worship; and Cardinal Antonio Maria
Rouco, Archbishop of Madrid. Among them will be other bishops, including some
Oblates who have already confirmed their presence. Other Oblates who are
thinking of coming should confirm their presence as soon as possible with the

The Cause
of Brother Anthony Kowlaczyk has advanced a step. The Congress of
theological consulters, held recently, approved his heroic virtues. The
ordinary meeting of Cardinals and Bishops will meet soon and he will be
declared Venerable. He is first on the list for beatification. If there is a
solid miracle, he could be beatified very soon.

The Cause
of the Martyrs of Laos. The validity of the diocesan process has been
approved. There are fifteen of them, among whom five Oblates, besides Fr. Mario
Borzaga, whose “positio” has already been written and handed in.
