While waiting for the new Superior General, the Capitulars dedicated the morning to listen to informative presentations by Father Ken THORSON, Provincial of OMI Lacombe and Father Vincent GRUBER, Provincial of France, and Father Constant KIENGE-KIENGE, Procurator General to the Holy See, on two current issues of concern to the Congregation: residential schools in Canada and cases of abuse of minors and vulnerable adults.
In the afternoon, the capitulars met in small groups to discuss the topics discussed in the morning. The new Superior General, Fr. Luis Ignacio ROIS ALONSO, familiarly known as “Chicho”, arrived in Nemi around 6:00 p.m. from Western Sahara. At 8:30 p.m. the rite of installation of the new Superior General took place in the main chapel.
