In an atmosphere of joy for the arrival of Fr. Luis Ignacio ROIS ALONSO, yesterday afternoon, today’s day began with a mass presided over by the new Superior General. The celebration of the feast of Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus, patron saint of missionaries, gave Fr. Rois the opportunity to underline in his homily some qualities that Oblates must have: simplicity, charity and obedience.
The rest of the day was dedicated to the election of the Vicar General and the Assistants. The chosen ones were:
Vicar General: Fr. Antoni BOCHM (Poland), who was the General Councilor for the Europe Region.
First assistant: Fr. Raymond MWANGALA (Zambia), until now Superior of the Zambian Delegation.
Second assistant: Fr. Henricus ASODO (Indonesia), in recent years Superior of the community of Aix-en-Provence.
Tomorrow, Sunday, the Capitulars will take a day of rest.
