“Today you are going to walk with Jesus.” Pope Francis to WYD pilgrims

On Thursday evening, World Youth Day pilgrims meditated and prayed with Pope Francis on the 14 stations of the way of the cross. “Today you are going to walk with Jesus,” were the opening words of Pope Francis as he introduced the stations of the cross.

At each of the 14 Stations that make up the Way of the Cross, pilgrims reflected on societal brokennesses that affect the young people of today.  The visible tears on the faces of many pilgrims testify to the richness of today’s experience.
