Information on Oblates Imprisoned in Belarus

May 16, 2024

For the past week, the Polish Province of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, which oversees the mission in Belarus, has been trying to understand the situation of the two missionaries detained by Belarusian authorities.

Concerns have been raised not only by the Superior General of the Congregation but also by many around the world, about both the legal status and the health of our detained brothers. We have managed to send some basic necessities to the detained Oblates.

According to official information from the Diocese of Vitebsk, we can confirm that Father Andrzej has been detained for 15 days and Father Pawel for 10 days.

We continue to pray and ask all people of good will to join us in prayer. Please also pray for the parish community of Shumilino, which is currently without pastoral care.
