State of the Cause
The cause of beatification for Josef Thao Tien and his companions was opened on the diocesan level on March 23, 2008. In 2011, the cause passed on to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. – The causes for beatification of Fr. Mario Borzaga and Paul Thoj Xyooj were opened separately on the diocesan level on November 3, 2006. In 2009, thsee causes passed on to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. The decrees of Martyrdom for both causes were signed in May and June 2015. The Beatification of all 17 Laotian Martyrs took place on December 11, 2016 in Vientiane, Laos.
