Relics
As of October 20, 2014, the Postulation has been advised by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints that first class relics of Blessed Joseph Gérard can only be given to bishops, so as to assure proper public devotion. Lay persons, religious, and priests may obtain a first class relic through a request from their local bishop. All requests must be addressed to the Oblate General Postulation Office. They have to be signed and sealed by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority. Copies of requests or requests attached to an e-mail are not acceptable. Relics cannot be sent by mail. They must be picked up at the Postulation Office in Rome. – Please note, second and third class relics are not available.
