History of the Cause
The diocesan inquiry began in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on May 30, 1930. His cause for beatification was introduced in Rome on February 24, 1937. On December l5, 1966, the official decree of the heroic virtues of Venerable Vital Grandin was promulgated. The proof of a miracle, handed in to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in 1980, resulted in a negative opinion in 1983. For his Beatification, a miracle recognized by the church is required.
