St. John Paul II – A Bridge Builder of Faith, Hope, and Peace

Every era produces its own prophets, voices of moral conscience who go the extra mile to share the hope they carry in their hearts. Pope St. John Paul II was one such prophetic figure, guiding the Church through times of immense global challenge.

We evangelize the world, not only through what we do,  but through an integrity of life

This past week, the three communities in Rome—the Central Government, the General House, and the International Roman Scholasticate—took part in a safeguarding workshop on the protection of minors and vulnerable adults. We affirmed that integrity of life, together with a just and unwavering commitment to protect the most vulnerable, stands at the heart of our Oblate Mission.

A Season of Conversation in the Spirit

On Monday, September 15, the members of the Central Government began their Plenary Session, which will last for a month. As C146 states, “The Superior General will submit matters concerning general policy to the General Council, inviting suggestions and proposals. He requires the advice or consent of the Council in those matters determined by the Church’s common law or by the Constitutions and Rules.”

Transforming District Structures into Thriving Communities

“Community.” The very term is a source of diverse reactions for many Oblates. Imagining an Intercultural Way of Life in Today’s World

And yet, some dream of something different. They long to step out of their comfort zones, to meet those who think, speak, or pray in other ways, and to let the encounter change their lives. They dare to build bridges. They seek to create something greater and truer, something that brushes against the divine and enlarges the heart. This is what we call an intercultural way of life.

Resources for Deeper Reflection and Shared Communion

During my travels around the Oblate world, communities are often looking for materials to foster sharing at the local level, whether for Personal, House, or District gatherings. The irony is that many are available, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! Our Oblate Communications Service gives updates regularly. But we are inundated with information these days.

I was just running an errand… and ended up encountering something so much bigger. Young people from all over the world, full of joy and faith, turned a simple line under the sun into a moment that shook me from the inside out. It was impossible to walk past it. Their energy, their hope, their way of living for Christ, it evangelized me.
