These past few days commemorating the 198th anniversary of the Papal Approval of our Constitutions and Rules have been filled with celebrations of Oblate history and charism.
Rome: General Committee for Formation Convenes
Every year, the General Committee for Formation (GCF) gathers members from various regions at the General House in Rome. This year their gathering will take place from February 19th to 24th. Following the directive of the 37th General Chapter, this year, an Oblate Brother joins the committee.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Luis Alberto HUAMÁN CAMAYO, O.M.I., as metropolitan archbishop of the Archdiocese of Huancayo, Peru, transferring him from the titular see of Tepelta and the office of auxiliary bishop of the same archdiocese.

J. Paul Martin, an Oblate priest for six years and Justice and Peace world leader for over 50 years, died at age 87 on Jan. 7, 2024, in New York City, USA, from pneumonia complicated by covid. Although his first name was Joseph, he never used it.
BOLPER: Suppression of the Oblate Mission in Puerto Rico
On January 9, 2024, the Superior General Father Luis Ignacio ROIS ALONSO, OMI, with the consent of his Council, officially suppressed the Mission of Puerto Rico from the BOLPER Delegation.
