For the following nine weeks, Oblates from Zimbabwe, South Africa, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, India, England, and Canada are forming a community in our Foundation House in Aix-en-Provence.
These Oblates will experience oblate life in a unique setting. By following in our founder’s footsteps, they will walk as pilgrims in his footsteps. By sharing Eugene’s life and reflecting on their own personal stories, they will encourage each other in hope. By living their daily oblation as a community, they will grow in communion with each other and with the Lord.
De Mazenod Experience 2023 participants with some members of Aix Youth
The De Mazenod Experience is a renewal program, open to all Oblates who have spent several years in missionary life. It aims, especially, at enabling the participants to look back over their experience of the Oblate charism in the everyday life of their mission and ministry. They do so in an atmosphere of prayer, reflection and fraternal sharing.
Three Oblates from different regions make up the animation team: Pat McGEE (USA), Jun MATAS (Philippines) and Hipólito OLEA (Aix). May the Spirit of the Lord help them during this time of grace.
