Eugene BENEDICT, General Councillor for Asia-Oceania, recently visited Indonesia from October 16–30, 2023, to lend support and encouragement to our Oblates in the Indonesian Province. Here, he recounts his experience.
November 2 – 15, 2023, Raymond MWANGALA and Eugene BENEDICT visited the Oblate Delegation in Vietnam, it was a fraternal visit intended to introduce the General councillors to the Delegation and to strengthen the bonds of unity between the Oblates of the Delegation and the rest of the Congregation.
The De Mazenod Family National Gathering was held at Mazenod College Victoria from November 9 -12. The theme this year was “Pilgrims Celebrating Community”.
Fr. Antoni BOCHM, OMI, the Vicar General, embarked on a visit to the Oblate missions in Bangladesh. This visit is particularly special as the Oblate Delegation of Bangladesh recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
On October 9, the Superior General received the consent of the Council for the appointment of the Provincial Council of the Province of the Philippines.
On September 29, 2023, the Superior General received the consent of the Council for the appointment the members of the Provincial Council of the Colombo Province of Sri Lanka.
The General House community joyfully received young pilgrims from Hong Kong accompanied by Oblate Frs. Willie and Ronnie.The young pilgrims are currently on an educational tour in Italy, they are from four Oblate schools.
On September 14, 2023, the Superior General received the consent of the Council for the appointment of
Fr. Gerry Gamaliel DE LOS REYES
as Provincial of the Province of the Philippines for the second term.
Oblates in Pakistan participate in a peaceful protest against Christophobia after the recent events where Christians were violently attacked and their churches torched.
Oblates of the Indonesian Province spent days together to discern God’s will and to thank the Lord for the work of salvation which he accomplishes through them.
The Superior General met with Oblate Youth at Parque de Jogos in Lisbon on Tuesday morning. The event, attended by some 1000 enthusiastic young people, profoundly moved Fr. Chicho as he opened his heart to the Oblate Youth. Emma, an Oblate Youth Leader from Australia, reports on this special event.
As pilgrims of Hope in communion, the Oblate Youth of Australia began their journey to WYD in Lisbon with a pilgrimage to Israel to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and culminating in a pilgrimage to Aix-en-Provence “the Oblate Holy Land.”
