Message of the Central Government to the Oblates in Haiti
The Central Administration of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate is meeting in Dakar, Senegal in joint session with the Africa-Madagascar Region. We reiterate our support for the Oblate pilgrims in Haiti, especially those in Port-au-Prince.

The Africa-Madagascar Regional Joint Session began on a spiritual tone, as Archbishop Benjamin Ndiaye of Dakar presided over the opening mass and Father General delivered an inspiring homily.
Senegal: Homily of the Superior General for the Opening of the Joint Session
We give thanks to God who has called together today in Dakar all the Superiors of the Units of the Region of Africa Madagascar together with the central government. Our whole charismatic family is praying for us and joins us in our common pilgrimage to sow hope among the poorest and to build communion in the Church and in the world.

The entire Charismatic family stands in solidarity with the Oblates and the Church in Haiti as we witness the grave crisis unfolding in Haiti, compounded by recent violent episodes. Our hearts go out to the Haitian population, and we hold them close in our thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
OMI Australia: Ongoing Formation Sessions
The St. Therese Spirituality Centre in Ormiston, Brisbane, hosted the Oblates of Australia for their Ongoing Formation Sessions from March 4th to March 8th.
Africa welcomes the Central Government of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate
The Superior General, Fr. Luis Ignacio ROIS ALONSO, OMI, and the members of the Central Government are visiting various Oblate Units in the Africa-Madagascar Region (AMR). After their visits, they will travel to Senegal to join the Major Superiors and Mission Superiors of Africa for the Joint Session. The session will take place from March 18 to 24, 2024 in Dakar.

Latin American Bursars Convene with Office of the General Treasurer
From February 12 to 16, Latin American bursars convened for a training workshop in São Paulo, Brazil. The attendees comprised treasurers from Paraguay, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay, and Peru, under the leadership of Fr. Charles RENSBURG, OMI, the General Treasurer of the Congregation.

Haiti continues to experience days of great violence and uncertainty. Armed groups and violent gangs have taken over Port-au-Prince, throwing the city into chaos and fear. This constant threat has created an oppressive atmosphere, where safety is elusive and daily life is disrupted by unchecked violence.
