OMIWORLD

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the Diocese of Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) presented by His Excellency Monsignor Heinz Wilhelm STECKLING, OMI, former Superior General of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (1998 – 2010)

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop of Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) His Excellency Monsignor Pedro Collar Noguera, transferring him from the see of San Juan Bautista de las Misiones.

We share Monsignor Guillermo Steckling’s message of gratitude during the announcement of the new bishop for the Diocese of Ciudad del Este, held this Tuesday, December 19, at the Cathedral Church.

I want to express my thanks to God for my Christian vocation, priesthood, and the call to the episcopate. I accepted all three calls with the desire to serve the Church in its unique mission, existing to save the world and fulfill God’s plan for us.

To the faithful of our diocese, covering Alto Paraná and Canindeyú, I appreciate your warm welcome, openness in dialogue, and, above all, your witness of love for the Lord, the Virgin, and the Church. This was evident in a strong commitment to the transformative power of Christian charity.

While I could thank many individuals and groups specifically, I want to emphasize the Church’s indebtedness to the priests who have dedicated their lives solely to serving the Lord and their neighbors.

Now, we must prepare for the installation of the new bishop, Monsignor Pedro Collar Noguera, a native of this city. This will take place on the feast of San Blas. Let us begin to pray for our new shepherd so that the holy people of God may grow stronger; may the Church become a great light and blessing for all inhabitants of this vast land.

Bishop Emeritus and
