In the heart of Columbuthurai, Jaffna, St. Joseph’s OMI Juniorate recently welcomed a group of 35 young men for a “Come and see” experience from December 8 -9, 2023.
Fr. Jude CAROWF OMI welcomed the participants to experience firsthand seminary life. The goal was to demystify the spiritual, communal, and daily routines of seminary life, aiming to demystify the spiritual, communal, and daily routines integral to this unique journey. The participants engaged with current seminarians, gaining insights into the reality of seminary life.
Following the “Come and See,” St. Joseph’s OMI Juniorate hosted their annual Parent’s Day and celebrated Christmas on Dec 10, 2023. The Eucharist was celebrated with the seminarians and their parents present, underscoring the important role parents play in the formation journey of the young candidates to religious life. This special day gives parents a glimpse of their son’s daily routine as seminarians, creating an uplifting and inspiring experience for the seminarians, their parents, and the formation staff.
