The International Roman Scholasticate (IRS) will return to its renovated premises on April 2, 2024, having previously undergone extensive renovations. The renovations, which began on December 27, 2022, required the IRS community to temporarily relocate to the third floor of the General House, where the young Oblates could continue their formation.

The project was subject to unforeseen repairs and delays due to obtaining permits from the city of Rome, which extended the original schedule of six months to over a year. These renovations were urgently needed and are a symbol of the community’s commitment to creating an enriching environment for Oblate Formation.

With the work nearing completion, the move back to the IRS will be marked by a blessing ceremony led by Fr. Chicho, OMI, Superior General. This significant investment in the facility underscores the administration’s dedication to fostering and promoting the formation of future Oblates.

Father Gregory Arokiaswamy, OMI, superior of the International Roman Scholasticate, expresses the community’s gratitude towards the administration’s support and looks forward to the positive impact the upgraded facilities will have on the IRS’s mission and formation.
