From April 12th to 14th, 2024, the multifunctional house of the Oblate Parish of St. Joseph in Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland, hosted the national conference of the laity of the Province. The gathering included participants from Belgium and two scholastics from the Scholasticate of Obra, highlighting its international reach.

Themed “Building the People of the Church,” the conference offered a range of activities—from insightful educational sessions led by Father Sebastian WISNIEWSKI, OMI, from Warsaw, to engaging sharing sessions and discussions about future initiatives for the Polish Oblate laity.

The conference was particularly noted for its productive small group discussions, which led to meaningful conclusions later shared with the larger assembly. These sessions were complemented by times of intense prayer and relaxed social activities, creating a spiritual and fraternal environment.

The Provincial Vicar, Father Bartosz MADEJSKI, OMI, organized the conference in collaboration with some laity who, along with him, are also involved in animating the laity at the European regional level. Stefano Dominici, coordinator of lay associations and associates, participated in the conference, sharing his experience with service and attentively listening to the hopes and perspectives of the laity in Poland.

With over 40 participants, the event strengthened mutual understanding and the determination to walk united in the footsteps of St. Eugene in service to the Church.
