WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
“Called to sow seeds of hope and to build peace.”
On the Fourth Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday, Pope Francis delivers his message for the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. This year, on 21 April 2024, he invites us all to reflect on the theme: “Called to sow seeds of hope and to build peace.”
In his message, Pope Francis encourages us to draw closer to Jesus, posing the important questions of our lives to Him and allowing His presence to challenge and inspire us. “Let Jesus draw you to Himself; bring Him your important questions; let Him challenge you by His presence. More than anyone else, Jesus respects our freedom,” he urges.
On this Vocations Sunday, we concentrate our prayers on seeking holy vocations from God, which are critical for working for His Kingdom. As Pope Francis reminds us, “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2), calling for a renewed commitment to building His Kingdom through service and faith.
