The Superior General, Fr. Chicho, wishes to express his gratitude for the WYD experience. He also announces his upcoming visit to the Oblate Mission in Cuba and requests prayers for the Joint Session of the Latin American Region.

Dear members of the Oblate family,
I am deeply grateful for all that we experienced together with the young people of our charismatic family during WYD in Lisbon. The gathering with all the young people and Oblates reaffirmed in me their love for our charism and their desire to be missionaries of and with the poor. The young people demonstrated to me that they not only represent the present and the future, but that they can also help us live with enthusiasm and joy the mandates of our General Chapter and embrace the aspirations of Pope Francis for the Church and humanity.
I am confident that our young people will implement the challenges presented to them and aid us in moving forward, with fervor, akin to Mary, in sowing seeds of fresh hope by living the Gospel. Thanks to all those who prayed for us and with us. Thanks to the young people who joined us and to those who could not be physically present. I am grateful to God and Mary for this grace, which, I believe, will give us renewed energy to live our charism.
Visit to all the units of the Latin America Region.
I invite all members of our charismatic family to accompany the Oblate Central Government in its visit to all the units of the Latin American Region before participating in the joint session with CIAL (Latin American Interprovincial Conference) in Mexico.
I will begin my trip with a visit to the Cuba Mission. Other members of the Central Government have already visited or are visiting one or two Units in the Region. We will embark on a journey together, gaining knowledge about how this Region lives its charism within its context, and we will collaborate to explore ways to address the challenges posed by the previous General Chapter effectively. We will seek occasions to share this new pilgrimage with all, as it enhances our missionary family and our pilgrimage of hope in communion.
