Antonio DIODATI, OMI

The Oblate Community of Nickolauskloster in Germany hosted the annual gathering of the European Commission for Youth and Vocations.  This event brought together Oblate representatives and young people from each European Oblate unit to share experiences from the past year, reflect on a specific theme, and plan summer activities.

Each morning, the participants captivated everyone with engaging videos showcasing their exceptional pastoral activities.  This year’s guest speaker was Father Thomas KLOSTERKAMP, OMI, who joined in the afternoon sessions all the way from San Antonio, Texas.  His talk centered around the history of the Youth Congregation of Saint Eugene de Mazenod.

One of the evenings was dedicated to the “Festival of Nations,” where everyone shared typical products from their home countries, and an evening filled with lively dancing and singing, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of community.  Additionally, one afternoon was reserved to explore the beautiful city of Cologne.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that we will gather in Madrid in the summer of 2023 for a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
