As they do on most major Oblate feasts, on December 8, the Oblates from three different communities gathered at the Benedictine Living Center at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.
Besides the Oblates from the Shrine community, the St. Henry’s Oblate Residence and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate in Godfrey, IL, several Oblate Associates and Honorary Oblates were present for the praying of Evening Prayer and the Consecration to Mary Immaculate, followed by a festive meal.
Novice Jesse Lopez helps Fr. Clarence Zachman, the world’s oldest Oblate (age 103), pray Evening Prayer of the Immaculate Conception.
Frs. John Madigan and Clarence ZACHMAN chat before the celebration.
