The General Finance Committee is convening this week in Rome, from December 12th to 16th, 2023.
This biannual gathering serves as a collective effort to support the Superior General and Council in assessing the financial landscape of the Congregation. During this session, the focus will be on evaluating the various budgets within the General Administration, as well as a comprehensive review of the financial standings of both the Oblate Units and the General Administration.
As the Congregation undergoes a rapid demographic shift over the next decade, one of the critical issues to be addressed by the Superior General is the strategic financial preparation for these imminent changes. Effectively navigating this transition will necessitate a closer collaboration within the Congregation to adeptly respond to the swiftly unfolding financial shifts in the years ahead. The call to a greater spirit of ‘collaboration’ is going to be a key process for the future of the Congregation.
