The Oblate Institute of Higher Learning held its annual certificate awarding ceremony in Dev Arana, Minuwangoda, Sri Lanka. This prestigious event which took place on November 25th, 2023, was attended by Rt Rev. Dr. Maxwell Silva, the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo, and Rev. Fr. Dilan Perera OMI, the delegate of the Provincial.
Serving the most abandoned
In his speech, Bishop Maxwell Silva emphasized the Oblates’ dedication to serving the most abandoned. He commended the Oblate Institute of Higher Learning for providing educational opportunities to those at the margins of society. The ceremony acknowledged students who successfully completed programs in Psychological Counseling, Teacher Formation, and English for Entrepreneurs, as well as English Immersion Courses for Post OL and Post AL students.
The celebration included Oblates, priests, nuns from neighboring parishes, benefactors, well-wishers, and proud parents of the accomplished students.
