Dear Oblates of Mary Immaculate of Haiti

The Central Administration of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate is meeting in Dakar, Senegal in joint session with the Africa-Madagascar Region. We reiterate our support for the Oblate pilgrims in Haiti, especially those in Port-au-Prince.

We accompany with our prayers the life of each one of you in this moment of uncertainty that you are going through together with the suffering people of Haiti. We pray to the Lord of Life that in the midst of so much confusion and injustice you may strive every day to build the Kingdom.

We value your efforts to be with the people of God as sowers of peace and pilgrims of hope. We join with all of you who cry out for an end to violence and for the recovery of institutions that make democracy and respect for rights possible.

We invite the Oblates and the members of the charismatic family:

– to keep alive their missionary daring, not to lose heart in the face of adversity and to pray insistently to the Lord for the return of peace;
– To be builders of dialogue, hope and solidarity with the people of God;
– To promote unity at all times between civil society and political actors;
– To promote means that will make reconciliation possible;
– To pray insistently for the Haitian people.

We thank you for keeping us informed about the situations that are taking place so that we can make ourselves the voice of the voiceless.

May our voice and the strength of our prayer accompany the Oblates and the members of the charismatic family not to falter and may they continue to write history in this country as Pilgrims of Hope in Communion.

We place our trust in our Immaculate Mother Mary, Saint Eugene, and all the Oblate Blesseds.

United in prayer and hope.
