On August 15, 1943, Father Gilles Marchand, Provincial, wrote to the Fathers of the Notre-Dame des Ouvriers residence the following: “On July 18, 1943, the Rev. Fr. Anthime Desnoyers, Vicar General, issued the decree of erection of the residence, which I am giving you now for reading. This promulgation constitutes your community as a regular residence according to our Constitutions and Rules. The residence erected under the name of Notre-Dame des Ouvriers will be under the immediate dependence of the provincial administration. It is currently composed of Frs. Victor Villeneuve, Director, Charles Sauvé, Bursar, Albert Sanschagrin, Pierre-Paul Asselin, Roger Massicotte and Paul-Émile Pelletier.”

Erection of the residence as a regular house: in a letter dated November 1, 1946, Father Leo Deschâtelets, provincial, wrote to Father Victor-M. Villeneuve: “I am very happy to see your residence elevated to the status of a regular house in our Province. It is a new jewel on the head of our Congregation established on the shores of the St. Lawrence.” According to INFO OMI, on September 15, 2008, the Notre-Dame-des- Ouvriers residence was closed. The building was sold to Gestion Parcim INC. on September 22, 2008.
